Review & Swatches: Glamour Doll Eyes Nightmare Before Christmas & Edward Scissorhands Collections!

Hey Everyone!

Today I am going to show you the new Glamour Doll Eyes Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands Collections that released on Black Friday. These collections were released as a 4 shadow bundle on Black Friday and are now sold as individual shadows on the GDE Storenvy site. There is also a third collection that was based off of the movie Elf. I had to get these two collections as I am a HUGE Nightmare Before Christmas buff as well as a Tim Burton fan in general! I really enjoy the shadows that are in each of these collections and they are absolutely beautiful! These shadows seem to have a great amount of sparkle to them, which I LOVE! They are so soft and buttery and they glide on! Ok, enough rambling... Let's get into the swatches!

  • All swatches done over Painterly Paint Pot by MAC.
  • All photos taken in artificial light.
  • All swatch photos taken with flash.
Top Row: Sandy Claws & What's This
Bottom Row: Jack & Sally and Simply Meant To Be
Left to Right: Sandy Claws, What's This, Simply Meant To Be, and Jack & Sally

Top Row: Blend.Blend.Blend. & Topiary Genius
Bottom Row: Hold Me & Isolated

Left to Right: Blend.Blend.Blend., Topiary Genius, Isolated & ...Hold Me
Sandy Claws:
  • GDE: a matte bright red base with a green sheen and red, green, and silver sparkles.
  • Me: I would say this shadow is a muted toned, yet still bold, red with a green sheen and reg, green, and silver sparkles throughout.
What's This:
  • GDE: a purple base with a golden orange sheen and green sparkle.
  • ME: a vibrant purple with a golden orange sheen and green sparkles throughout.
Simply Meant To Be:
  • GDE: a taupe base with a subtle purple and orange sheen and turquoise and purple sparkles.
  • ME: I LOVE this shadow! It's a gorgeous mauve taupe with a purple (and slight orange) sheen. This shadow has turquoise and purple sparkles throughout.
Jack & Sally:
  • GDE: a matte black base with a blue sheen and silver, purple, and red sparkles.
  • ME: a black base with a strong indigo sheen. This shadow looks like it has multidimensional sparkles throughout. It's a gorgeous shadow.
Blend.Blend.Blend.:
  • GDE: a darkened lavender with a red sheen and intense golden sparkle.
  • ME: a mauve-lavender shadow with a hint of taupe and a slight red sheen. This shadow has gold sparkle throughout.
Topiary Genius:
  • GDE: green with a strong red and copper shift and sparkle.
  • ME: a muted green with a copper sheen with red and copper sparkles.
Isolated:
  • GDE: a deep gray with a strong purple and blue shift and white sparkles.
  • ME: I love this shadow and to me it's more of a blue with a gray hint to it. It has a strong purple  shift and white sparkles throughout.
...Hold Me:
  • GDE: a light off white with a sheer purple overlay and white sheen.
  • ME: this is a gorgeous highlight shadow. It's a beige-white shadow with a purple duo chrome effect.
I am in love with these two collections. I really like how with the Edward Scissorhands Collection, the shadows are more muted but have strong sheens and sparkles. I cannot get enough! Each of these shadows are for sale for $6.00 each on the Storenvy site.

My favorites from these collections are Simply Meant To Be, Jack & Sally, and Blend.Blend.Blend.

Have you tried anything from these collections? What are your favorites?

Review & Swatches: Mazzie Cosmetics Blushes!

Hey Everyone!

Today I am going to be doing a review and swatches of Mazzie Cosmetics blushes! Mazzie Cosmetics has formulated 8 blushes that have a matte base and a couple have a shimmer to them to give a nice glow to the skin. The blushes come in a 10 gram jar that is filled to the brim and each container has a sifter. The cost is $6.00 for a jar and considering you only need a TINY amount of product, it is well worth the money and these blushes will last you forever!

  • All swatches done on bare skin; no primer.
  • All photos taken in artificial light.
  • All photos taken with flash.

From Left to Right: Adore, Burn, & Rust

From Left to Right: Rascal, Paradise, & Berry

From Left to Right: Passion Pink & Siren
Adore:
  • MC: A yellow/brown color with shimmer.
  • ME: Adore is a peachy/neutral shade with a good amount of shimmer throughout. If you are fair this would be a gorgeous peach blush on you.
Burn:
  • MC: A matte orange/brown color.
  • ME: Burn is one of those "camel brown" shades in the pot. Once it's blended out it pulls to be a reddish/orange blush with a hint of brown. I really think this blush is gorgeous but definitely use a light hand!
Rust:
  • MC: A matte red/pink color.
  • ME: Rust is a beautiful red/brown blush that has a slight pink undertone. This blush is absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorites. Again, a light hand is a must.
Rascal:
  • MC: A peach/pink color with some shimmer.
  • ME: Rascal is a light pink/peach blush with some shimmer throughout.
Paradise:
  • MC: A matte peach/brown color.
  • ME: Paradise is a peach with a slight brown undertone. I adore this blush and I believe that it would work on a variety of skin tones.
Berry:
  • MC: A matte hot pink/purple color.
  • ME: Berry is a vibrant fuchsia blush. This blush seems to pull a bit darker once swatched than it looks in the pan (which I personally prefer).
Passion Pink:
  • MC: A light matte rose/pink color.
  • ME: Passion Pink is a very pale pink blush that pulls a rosy undertone. I personally am not a huge fan of wicked light blushes but if you have fair skin this would work great for you.
Siren:
  • MC: A matte bright pink color.
  • ME: Siren is a matte bright pink with slight shimmer.
Overall, I really enjoy Mazzie Cosmetics blushes. I find that they are extremely pigmented and you only need a little bit to go a long way. I do recommend using a Duo-Fibre brush to apply these.

My favorites are Rust, Paradise, Rascal, and Berry.

Review & Swatches: Mazzie Cosmetics Matte Collection!

Hey Everyone!

Today I have an exciting post for you! I am reviewing the Matte collection from Mazzie Cosmetics! I have previously reviewed shadows from Mazzie Cosmetics that you can see here! In case you don't know about this brand, Mazzie Cosmetics in an Indie Brand that my friend Rachel has created. She is incredibly talented and works very hard to create quality products. You can check out her Etsy shop here.

This collection consists of 12 Matte shadows that have a slight shimmer shift added to them. I do consider these shadows to be more of a semi matte formula. Glamour Doll Eyes has a similar formula called the Matte Squared Collections. If you have tried those, these are comparable and similar in formula and texture.

Let's get on to the swatches:
  • All swatch photos taken in artificial light.
  • All shadow swatch photos taken with flash.
  • All photos swatched over Lorac Behind The Scenes Primer.

From Left to Right: Haunted, Panic!, Acid Bath, & Dementia
Haunted: Haunted is a gorgeous, vibrant green that has a slight yellow undertone to it. This shadow also has a shift of gold throughout.

Panic!: Panic! is one of my favorites! This shadow is a blue-green teal that has a sliver-ish shift to it.

Acid Bath: Acid Bath is a chartruese green that has a slight green shift to it.

Dementia: Dementia is a pale yellow shadow with a golden yellow shimmer shift throughout. This shadow seems like it would be more vibrant in the pot, but I actually like how it's more pale when swatched!

From Left to Right: Dark Entry, Spellbound, Fangs of Love, & Corrosion
Dark Entry: Dark Entry is a maroon shadow that has a purple shift/undertone to it. I absolutely love this shadow and you can see it in action in this tutorial here.

Spelbound: Spellbound is a bright, vibrant pink. This shadow is one of the shadows that appears most matte, although it still has a slight shift of a lighter pink to it.

Fangs of Love: Fangs of Love is a gorgeous matte blood red shade that has a hint of a pink shift to it.

From Left to Right: Vaccination, Shadow Play, Overdose, & Batz
Vaccination: Vaccination is a white shadow that appears as more of a satin finish with no distinct shimmer shift.

Shadow Play: Shadow Play is a bright, vibrant blue shadow that is similar to vaccination in that it has more of a satin finish rather than an actual shimmer shift. This shadow is crazy pigmented!

Overdose: Overdose is a beautiful deep purple that seems to have a deep red undertone to it. This shadow has a blue shimmer shift to it.

Batz: Batz is an extremely pigmented black shadow that is one of the more matte shadows that has a very slight shimmer shift, but it's barely detectable in the swatch. This is one of the most pigmented blacks I have worked with.

Overall I think that this formulation is fantastic! I really like the semi matte formula! I did not have any issue with pigmentation with any of the shadows in this collection. When they apply on the lid, they apply smooth and I don't notice any skipping on the lid or crease. I also did not notice a lot of product kick up when I was using them; they do not appear to be overly powdery and I barely had any fallout with these shadows.

I would highly recommend these shadows if you are looking for great quality and affordability!

These shadows cost $6 for 10 grams of product.

I hope that you found this review to be helpful and that you give Mazzie Cosmetics a try! Have you tried Mazzie Cosmetics before? What are your favorites from this collection?

Review & Swatches: MakeupGeek Gel Liners!

Hey Everyone!

Here is the third and final installment of my MakeupGeek Show n' Tell! I am going to be going over the gel liners that I received in this post! If you would like to see the other two posts, please click here and here.

  • All photos were taken in artificial light.
  • Swatch photos were done with flash.

Left to Right: Rave & Amethyst
Rave: Rave is an absolutely beautiful gel liner! This liner is taupe with a green undertone and slight silver hint to it. I absolutely LOVE this gel liner and it is almost identical to the MUG shadow in Moondust!

Amethyst: Amethyst is a bright, vibrant purple with a pink undertone.

The MUG gel liners are so smooth and creamy, yet they have amazing staying power. I honestly don't use them for actual liner, but I like to use them in the waterline as well as use them for bases. I find that they do not crease and they stay on the waterline forever! I didn't have any issues with the liners settling into the inner corner of my eye at all! I am so impressed and I cannot wait to purchase more of these liners!

The gel liners can be purchased here for $8.99 and you receive 3 grams of product!

Review & Swatches: MakeupGeek Pigments!

Hey Everyone!

This is the second part of my MakeupGeek Show n' Tell, where I am showing you all of the products I received from MUG! I am going to be going over the pigments in this blog post. You can check out the initial post here, where I show you the shadows!

  • Each photo was taken in artifical light.
  • Swatch photos were taken with flash.
  • All swatches were done over Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer.

Paparazzi

Nightlife

Afterglow

Sweet Dreams

New Years Eve
Left to Right: New Years Eve, Sweet Dreams, Afterglow,  Nightlife, Paparazzi
New Years Eve: NYE is a beautiful champagne pigment with tons of gold glitter throughout! This pigment is absolutely beautiful and reminds me of MAC Vanilla pigment but on crack!

Sweet Dreams: Sweet Dreams is a beautiful, almost matte based pigment that has a slight rose tone to it.

Afterglow: Afterglow is a light golden pigment.

Nightlife: Nightlife is a bronze pigment. This pigment would be gorgeous all over the lid for the summer!

Paparazzi: Paparazzi is a black based slate gray pigment with intense silver glitter throughout! This pigments is absolutely stunning and the swatch does not do it justice!

MUG pigments are absolutely amazing and such great quality! Each one that I own is highly pigmented and the last all day! The only issue that I have with them is that there is not a sifter in the pot, so they are quite messy to work with. I did hear that MUG is reformulating their packaging to add sifters though!

The MUG pigments can be purchased here for $6.99 and you receive 2 grams of product.
